Maybe you have heard me call it my "Little Monster"

Now you know, I want one. Can't seem to find one anywhere, not even sure how to search...

I would post a link to the vendor but then bad stuff would descend upon us. I can tell you that it came all the way from Japan and the outfit's name that handled the transaction is often seen starting with a small "a".

The description is thus :
Kitchen Knife 105mm(4.1") 'Kaji Craftsmanmade' Kurouchi Double Bevel

HONMAMON is the manufacturer.

Blade Material : Shirogami Steel #2

The blade comes coated with lacquer or some such. I washed it all off with lacquer thinner to get the more rustic look.

Don't be disappointed if the black ferrule comes loose and gets rattly. As soon as you wash the knife and get even a partial drop of water on the wood at the ferrule it tightens up again . . . for that day anyway.

Maybe some day I will remove the handle and do a ferrule fitting on it but haven't so far.
When I was looking at these I wanted even a shorter one but never found it. I was considering making a sheath and EDCing it.

Practically speaking the Cold Steel paring knife that I posted recently is a better fixed blade choice for that.

I'm still liking the Little Monster though.
