Mayo TNT

Well at least we all know that Tom will never make a Hobo knife. The spoons never come out right after he is done drilling holes.

can anyone tell me how thick the small TNT is? in terms of comparing it to a small sebenza or a benchmade 710 ... ?? the pics on the mayoknives.com site make the handles look round .. ?

Vactor, shoot Tom an email and he can give you the exact specs. Tom has both radiused ti scales or flat. The flat is similar to the Seb scales, and the radiused are simply awesomely comfortable. I know Tom's got a few Sebs lying around and he could probably give you a direct size comparison. However, he's getting ready for the Oregon show and I know he's busting his a$$ in the shop so he may not answer you immediately.
You might email some of the guys here who have posted about their TNT's...chances are one of us has both the Seb and the TNT. (I parted with my Sebs to GET my TNT...never looked back!)

the small and medium sizes have .125" titanium handles that are radiused over, the blades are .125" talonite....these are nominal sizes as sometimes I can only get .130 titanium from Chuck Bybee and the talonite is never the same size off of their grinder......../.125-.135" usually.
The larges are made with .144 ti and .156 talonite.....however I havent been able to get any more .144 and have been using .165" titanium....XLG are same size in thickness but about an inch longer than the Large size. Have just made the first SUPER size ones....some pics are on the Tom & Jerry Forum over at Knifeforums.com but they are not quite completed- with a finished medium in the picture for size comparison...back to work!!

Love is Stronger than Death!

Being bored the other day at work, I decided to shred some cardboard shipping boxes. We had just gotten 5 pallets of light fixtures for an office building we're doing, so I had plenty of cardboard!
First I cut the boxes down into roughly 1' squares, then cut those into 2"x1' strips, then cut the strips into small pieces, just kind of shaving off the ends. I did this with 10 boxes (which were approx 3' cubes when I started). It took about an hour and a half.
The edge seemed unaffected. It shaved hair exactly as easily as before I'd started.
The frame lock tightened up a tad during the process, but did not even come close to the half-way mark, and was not at all difficult to unlock.
There were no hot spots with the handle, it was comfortable and the holes afforded a secure grip. I especially like the way the titanium kind of "ramps up" where the thumb rests.
The thickness of the Talonite did make for some drag going through long slices, but by angling the blade to utilize more of the belly and tip this was easily avoided.
All in all, I was extremely impressed.
I love this knife!!
