Mayonized Sebbie: Who has one and what do you think?

Let me know if you don't find one ;) I have a small that Tom did for me that has been sitting in a Mission Wallet since I got it back and never been used. Certainly a slick piece but I am just a "large" Sebbie kind of guy. That and hopefully I have another TnT coming :D

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Could you post a pic or send me one via email?

I'll take a pic and send it via email tomorrow. I have a few smalls that just don't ever seem to get any pocket time.

Cool, I'll be looking for it. ;)

I'd say it's well worth it. I have one in my current EDC line up. In fact it's riding in my back pocket in a crk pouch. Not sure how he makes em' smoother, but there is a huge difference.

Yeah, it will definitely be worth it given all I've seen and heard about Tom's treatment of the Sebbie. I really like the fact that no two Mayonized Sebbies look alike. That just heightens the anticipation of how the final product will appear.

Hmmmmm.... I have a small classic plain that might benefit from some Mayonaise... ;) :D

dylan...Howin the sam hill did you lose it? Is your misfortune something we can learn from, or was it just one of those things?

Drills holes, anodizes the scales, sharpens and tunes it up where it's extremely smooth. I thinks that's it. The main thing is that he makes a great knife even better and more unique.

I had it on me as I was walking around on campus. It was there when I went to school, but not there when I got home. I've checked everywhere but no luck. I had a jacket on a the time and I'm guessing the clip got snagged on the bottom of the jacket and pulled the knife out as I was getting up or sitting down. It had happened before.

Neetones, yes that will void the warranty. But I think the Sebenza is one of the few knives that doesn't even need a warranty.

Like dylan said the Sebbie is so well made that the lack of a warranty doesn't bother me in the least. If it were a knife with a more complicated (and probably less effective) locking system or had more moving parts I'd be worried.

on the trip back from Hawaii, does the CRK warranty get lost at sea?

Nitin

Yes, any alterations to the handle, even slight ones, invalidate the warranty. But, as said, what me worry? The seb is such a solid knife, plus CRK will do repairs - it's just that you will be charged for them.

IIRC, Mayo also installs new thumb studes (dual?) that are a little easier on the thumb.

Re: the edge - to the best of my memory, CRK uses a modified convex method, just convexing the cutting edge of the knife. Mayo is a V-edge guy.

I just got a large back from Tom a few days ago. Here's a pic with a regular He did for me a while back.

When Tom emailed me the other week he stated that he was out of the thubmstuds he had been using. Is that why the original thumbstud remains on the recently returned large Sebbie? Excellent hole patterns on both, particularly the small Sebbie's pattern.
