The answer to that can be YES and it can be NO.:p

No, if you look at models that went from "In Production" to "These are no longer being made." and the company kept making other models.

Yes, if you consider that anything Blackjack made was discontinued when they went out of business, and then re-introduced by Camillus before they went belly up and then anything that Kabar started re-making after Camillus died.

I'm not a glass half full/empty kinda person. I have more of a possum in the chicken house mind-set.o_O:D

Looking forward to getting it back. I just know it’s ‘careful don’t touch me’ sharp.
 
It really didn't need a full on sharpening, as it wasn't too dull to begin with. About 10 minutes on the diamond steel brought the edge right back to sharp!
