• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

So, I'm not yet fixed on the name "Bushabout", it just floated across my mind a while back. But here it is! My first knife! When I moved out to Oregon, I left it with Tom Krein to make a sheath for it... and he is a serious crafter-o-pants.

It's 1095 w/ HT by Dan Koster. About 8" OAL w/ a 4" blade. 3/16 thick. Black micarta scales.

It's far from perfect... but I love it! All with a Lowes belt grinder, a dremel, and some elbow grease. Here is some previous fuzz!

Thanks for the complements, here it is next to some of my other knives for comparison:

That is a great looking blade and even better that it's your first!!! It's also nice to see the other experts helping out (kudos to Tom and Dan!).

It looks like a big patch knife. A good functional bladeshape if you ask me. Congrats on building your first knife. I think what you created looks like a really good user!

I agree on all counts. Great that a couple of the pros pitched in. You did a really nice job. Looks like a great all-'rounder.
