I just finished my first knife! Well, almost finished. I still need to clean the blade up a bit, and finish out the micarta.

I thought I'd share my first cut with my first knife.

Sorry for the horrible pictures. I'm going to get out tomorrow and put her to work!

8" OAL. 3/16" 1095. Black canvas micarta. She needs some pants!

Thats a great looking design, I love it!! Do you mind if I make one like it?? Gene

gunknifenut:Go for it! I have a few templates based off of this design, one with a choil and a pommel.

I'm moving to an apartment in Oregon soon, so I don't know when I'll be able to make some more!

Glad everyone likes it!

Leave it to us to tear apart a perfectly good thread on a real nice knife!
Lets see if we can get it back on track.

Thats what she said!:)

it is actually a really nice knife. I like the bushcraft style. I've never had one though.

Now THAT'S what she said.

sorry naked.

In all seriousness, the handle looks super comfy. What kind of sheath will you do for it?

Looks fit for kydex.

Brett

I really prefer kydex over leather. Although I'd like to try to make both! Tom Krein is pretty close though, and he makes perfect kydex sheaths.

AG Russell is also close, and they have a bargain bin of nearly-perfect leather sheaths for $10 or so, so I might try to pick one of those up until I can make my own.

I've sanded the micarta to 400 grit now, and given it a nice WD40 bath. Now its a nice dark, not so glossy black. I don't have a buffer, so I'm looking into other methods of finishing it off.

MAN, the handle really does fit my hand just perfectly, I couldn't be more pleased.
