McGregor is gonna whoop Khabib

Because he has no respect for the hand that feeds him, he has left a black eye on the sport and shown a complete lack of control...yet, claims to be a "good Muslim".

Well that was an unfortunate mess. Not classy. But at least the Ferguson/Pettis war was an instant classic.

Haha! Khabib my man! I figured there was only one shot Conor really had and all advantages were Khabibs. As expected the fight went to the ground, but there was some time where they were standing that Khabib was lucky he didn’t get clapped.

Alot of people were thinking Khabib looked sloppy in his previous fight but he was putting on a show and I assumed he would be more careful for this one.

Good fight. Conor did that illegal knee and was grabbing the cage a ton with his hands and even his toes.

I don’t see how Khabib gave UFC a black eye. Imho if anyone did it is Connor who brought all this disrespect into the sport. I like it when fighters show some respect and honour.

Edit: nvm I missed what happened after the fight.

Watch the Mcgregor vs Diaz 2 fight in slowed motion without audio . It’s a totally different feel for what went on. Diaz held his own but was missing a lot of those flurry shots. Which some were being scored. It’s 1-1 even for those two. That’s just going by the judging criteria and sig strikes landed. Diaz sure put himself in the right place at the right time though.

Now for khabib vs Conor . I think it all plays off of how khabib looks on his stand up. Khabib is great in the clinch and close range. Conor has some great skills at the mid to longer range. Solid at knowing distance and using it to his strengths. Accurate in and out of the pocket.

My prediction is Conor will keep khabib at bay with his kicks . He will let the hands go when available openings are there. A lot of running around the cage will go on, to avoid any close call takedowns and or clinches . Conor will want that striking range to stay. He will survive the takedowns , for the fact that they will happen late in the rounds. Fight will end in tko 4th round . For Conor as winner .

Well...you called the round!

Khabib's pressure game is beastly and he gave him a nice beat down.

We'll see how this mess plays out. I read Conor isn't pressing charges on the guys who went after him.

Conor was the black eye on the sport, nothing but an entitled manchild letting his ego get the better of him.

Not only did Khabib ruin him, he jumped the fence and smashed his loudmouth cornermen too. :D

I'm not sure what religion has to do with it...

What Conner did with the bus incident was ridiculous.

Khabib took it to ludicrous speed.

Lol that Dana White is acting all disgusted about the post-match melee, when he allowed Conor to create the conditions that it resulted from in the first place.

True, two wrongs do not make a right, and Khabib blew a perfect opportunity to take the higher road. But Dana White seems to love fighters trash talking other fighters, and he especially allows McGregor to say (and do) virtually anything he wants. Then he acts surprised when things go south. Khabib was definitely wrong to initiate the brawl, and I can see it's a part of an increasing (and more open) lack of civility in today's world; but I can at least see it from Khabib's side more than I can from McGregor's.

I used to like McGregor, but not for some time. I don't care how good a fighter he is.

Martial artists, especially ones in the public eye like the top MMA fighters, should hold themselves to a higher standard of class and self-control, even if they cannot feel that respect for a certain individual. Of course it can be difficult; that's why it's called a discipline, which must encompass more than how hard you can train and how tough you are as a fighter.

This. Khabib ain't in the right, but Dana White made something like this an inevitability when he didn't kick McGregor out after the bus incident. He's been a howling jackass for years, but he's made it clear that he's too stupid to realize that the UFC isn't the WWE and evetually someone was going to rise to the bait.

Ok. Dana White is always appalled. I could have sworn he said Conner is done after the bus episode but he let Connor go through the law. Connor paid his dues in that respect. I think he will let the Las Vegas gaming commission dictate the tone of the punishment. All that visa this and that is emotion talk. No different from when Connor was in trouble. If there is money to be made off of khabib he is in no trouble.
Regarding connors big mouth , it’s a double edge sword. On one hand is sells tickets. Lots of tickets. Dana knows this so he will let it fly. It was sort of gray area on the sort of taste it went to. On one hand, khabib brings up religion as a motivation to his fighting. This will make it a target to Connor. If khabib brings up Russia has so many millions and Ireland this many, then countries get involved. Did Connor step over the line? Yeah for my tastes. Sort of back fired though for him.
You have joe Rogan saying this made Al look like a god. True words it did but imo not the entire case. I guarantee you khabib was elevated to an even higher level. He had some nice striking imo. Al is not going 5 rounds with this guy.
Does connor deserve a rematch? Why not, he came off of 2 years. I think he can do better the next time. But he’s gonna have to win some other matches to earn that right.
I went in cheering for khabib and ended up confused at the end. Missed opportunity probably the most accurately said. I don’t think he should be stripped of his belt unless he has a huge suspension from the commission(have to keep things going).
I think Connor knows as well how things can get heated at the moment which is why he’s not pressing charges. Maybe as different as they are , they are the same animal.
Khabib will have to answer to his father. One could argue that khabib disrespected his religion and family even more if you agree with action speaks louder than words. I’m not sure I’m a fan of either. I like gsp.
On a positive note. Derrick lol
