McMATER CARR Garolite

Garolite CE Canvas grade( canvas based phenolic) from McMASTER CARR.Just wondering if this is the same thing as natural canvas micarta.I used some for a custom fixture at the machine shop( my day job ) it looks , smells and machines the same. I noticed it's a little darker. I'm gonna try some for handle material, at $17.00 for a 12" x 12" x 1/4" sheet it's way cheaper than natural canvas micarta.It comes in thickness from 1/32" to 2" Has anybody used it? Let me know.

I use it all the time, especially the tubes, and as liners also in the 1/32" thick stuff. Most of the stuff we use had an industrial intention. Its good stuff.

The black paper Garolite polishes up nicely too.

I have used black paper from McMaster also. I have only purchased the paper and natural G10 though, never purchased canvas from them.

I use it. Good stuff. I like to leave it rough for a grippy feel.
