My Mcusta MC-1 damascus is on its way and i want to know what i should expect. What are your thoughts on the company? Anybody have this specific model? Would it make a decent user? its most likely just gonna go in the display cases i got. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks

I ordered this Mcusta from Japanese Knives Direct about 4 months ago:

When it came, I was impressed and charmed by it, but also a bit stymied. It was the only knife I had that I wanted to carry and use, that didn't have a pocket clip. It took me two months to figure out that it's the perfect size and length to lie in the bottom of my back right pocket. Since then, I've been carrying it more than anything else and enjoying it immensely. It's a very smooth, very solidly made little piece. The liner lock doesn't say 'robust' to me, but it's reliable in my experience (of about a million compulsive opens and closes--it's a fun knife to fondle and play with). The blade is cool to look at, and is a very good quality VG10 where it hits the road. Sharpens very nicely--it came sharp and touched up readily at 30 deg. on the Sharpmaker. I was a little surprised at how thick the blade is; it's not a specialized slicer, but it is a solid feeling all-around user with a fairly strong point and an easy to maintain profile.

Sorry I don't have any experience with your specific model--but Mcusta makes a knife you'll really enjoy, if my experience holds true for you.

That knife you got is very nice, especially those handels. I wanted to get that one origionally, but with buying the 710 and mini-cyclone already it was kinda out of my price range.
