I've been a water geek for quite a while. I grew up on a large creek and my wife and I had our first house on another large creek so I've always been around water.
This year my wife and I moved from Jersey to Texas and for the first time in 30 years, I don't have a body of water in my back yard.
This has been the source of some trepidation for me as I love to paddle and fish and my time to do so has been cut to a tiny level. I'm accustomed to having my boat sitting right at the water and using it at will. It's quite a hassle to load up my big canoe and take it the whole 5 min. down the road to the local lake, see, I'm sort of a lazy soul.
This year for my birthday my lovely and talented wife did her best to solve this problem for me. She purchaced 2 brand new fishing kayaks, one for her and one for me. They are beautiful and the best part is, they weigh less than 50 pounds a peice. I can throw them around at will. Easy to load and carry.
I'm a lucky, lucky man.
