Here is my story guys.

I orders an Obe from the knife cellar and got it for around 400 $. Ti frame, Damascus blade, the works. I was thrilled to get it at that price and was awaiting it eagerly. So much so that I kept going to my P.O box daily, sometimes twice a day hoping to find it there. A week goes by and no news of my knife. So I go to the guys at customs and ask them if my knife has arrived. They told me that they have no idea about it. I go to an office called (POSTAL SECURITY) I ask them, they say, NOPE, No idea.

Another couple of days go by and I knew something was wrong. So I print out my tracking information and go again. This time I was pissed off. I show them my tracking information saying the knife has arrived a week ago and was cleared by customs. When they saw that the head manager said " O yeah its actually here and pulls out a box from under his desk. He opens it and tells me is this is?(by the way, the post office here is a public service owned by the state)

I said yes, that's it . It was in open position with sticky table on it. they opened it, played with it but couldn't close the frame lock. He asks me " can you close it?" and I close it. He tells me its very sharp and nice knife but he cant give it to me because its against the regulations of the post office to post or release (weird knives) I was so angry but I swallowed my pride and told him that its not a weird knife. Its just a knife. I can go to any corner shop here and buy a sword or dagger or an outo. He said that's true but this one is a weird knife and has a clip. This means its like a pen and is a dangerous object. I got so desperate and told him to remove the clip and give me the knife. He refused.

He asked me why cant I just let it go and buy any other knife from the market? I told him that this is one of a kind and that I cant find one like it in the market. then i told him how much it was. You wont imagine the laughs in the office. They all thought it was amusing and that I am either making it up just to get the knife or that I am mad to by it at such a price.

Finally, they tell me that the knife will be sent back where it came from and there is no way I am getting it. I contacted someone who works there and could do anything about it because the manager thought it was a weird object. he told me if it hadn't had a clip, they would release it. Or if it was something I needed like medicine, they would release it. to me releasing unauthorized medicine is more dangerous than releasing a folder.

They sent the knife back to The Knife cellar and Phillip got it. He was with me on email the whole time replying as fast as he could. Phillip re shipped the knife to me using FedEx which does not have this sort of regulation and spent half an hour convincing them that it is not a dangerous object. Phillip did that without adding a penny for handling and his work and time.

a big thank you to Phillip and the knife cellar.

sorry, I know my writing sucks but that's my story.

By the way, This is the knife. There is absolutely nothing weird about it :)

I happen to LOVE Mike Obenauf's knives!!( I own 4 myself.) I am sorry that you had such trouble getting your Obie!!
Philip is AWESOME!! I love TheKnifeCellar. I am glad that you are going to be getting your Obie! That IS an awesome Obie by the way.

Thanks TheKnifeCollector :)
He didn't give me any chance to even look at it in the post office. I hope it will arrive soon.

I had the impression they were trying to keep it and that they were pissed off because I produced a document that shows they got it.

That's just an impression though ;)
