Me Scratched Me XM-18

Thats why I paid to get it fixed...it means something to me...it's the nicest knife I have and I want to use it yes but I messed it up and want it fixed. If you hit a pot hole on your brand new car for example and bend a rim you will want to get it fixed right away. It's also not just a scratch I chipped the blade and I also dulled my edge more cutting cardboard. So I want it fixed. I also want another 3.5 to 4 inch folder that's more of a slicer and has a flipper...However XM-18's are not a dime a dozen these days!

True, although if you drive a tank and scratched the paint you might just say to yourself... Man this thing's a tank!;)

I don't have a Hinderer (yet!) but with my Sebenza, the first couple of scratches really, really hurt.

...

A year later, and I love them! I can't tell you how many times I've dropped or dinged the knife. In a few years, it will just be another story the knife has to tell...

i don't think you're being a jerk as long as you realize that people buy these knives for all different reasons. some buy to beat the hell out of em, some to put in a safe or display case never to be used. Others buy them for light use, and to have in an emergency. Everyone has their own reasons.

I happen to own 1 hinderer to beat on and one that i would barely use. If i had a sharpening blunder on the one i barely use i would be very concerned about it. The thing is near mint, and even though i carry it occasionally, i still want to keep it as close to mint as i can, while still getting some enjoyment of use.

Nicely put.

True story. I knew a guy when I was stationed at Ft. Knox. He was a good ol' boy. Bought a Ford F150 for cash and I gave him a ride to pick it up.
No frills just a nice truck.
After all the paperwork was done. He took a hammer out of his tool box walked around back and gave the tail gate a whack. Threw the hammer back in the box and said, "There now I don't have to worry about that lets go".
I just stood there for a minute. Smiled and got in my truck and we drove away.
While I have never done that myself, I get it.
Not saying that is exactly what you did but, Enjoy using your knife...!
