I consider myself more of a "traditionalist" style knife maker; I forge my knives, they are usually highly polished, I use a lot of stag and wood handles, ect. But I got the chance to play around at a friends shop this weekend and ended up making this thing. Definitely not a typical one for me, but I am pretty happy with the way this guy came out. what we have here is what I like to call "brush knife" type chopper, and she's a user. Blade is forged from 1095 steel stock and measures just about 8" at 0.118" thick on the spine with as forged flats and a Scotch-Brite satin on the blade. Handle is 5.25" long and is made up of a polished brass bolster with matching pins and (now for the unusual part) a pair BRIGHT green Kirinite scales. This stuff really jumps out at you with its colors. Overall length stands at 13.25", but with its thin stock and lighter handle material, its far from a burden. Comes with a nice tooled leather pouch sheath as well.
