So, I saw the mean street ergo released today and I really want to add a piece of Infi to my collection. However, I live in Canada and our dollar is doing poorly right now. So I'm just wondering how many of you would pay $550+ for the Mean Street Ergo, or if you would just wait for some bigger badder Infi?

Also, what's your guys thoughts on Infi for EDC? I feel like a more high wear resistance steel might be a better alternative. Thanks.

That puts the battle grade at about $270 yeah? My understanding is it gives up some toughness but gains edge retention, so unless you are worried about rust I'd go that way. Actually, I just did order a battle grade ;)

Just wait bro its not worth it rn unless its somethin special

I'm in the same situation, just opposite side of the country ;). Hard decision.... I've been picking and choosing very carefully since the start of 2015. Bought 2 sweet blades nonetheless. Would have been more, if it wasn't for the exchange (that makes, approximately, 75$ Canadian in shipping fees alone).

Good luck! Great blades all!!!.... What's a bloke to do!!!

I wouldn't. If I were after one of these, I'd probably work the trade angle instead.

Of course, I paid a bit more for a fairly similar knife because I felt it was perfect for my needs. So, there's that.

Geez hes on one side, your on the other and im right innthe middle! Talk about screwed canadian wide haha! All I can say is thank god for the BG series right now!!

I'm passing on it. Partly because the dollar is awful, and partly because I have a lot of other EDC sized knives. It is really, really tempting though. I always wondered why there was no MSErgo.

I agree with Tyrade, with regards to EDC size blades.....however.I'm still opened to a few more models. The regular, short, round butt handle Game Warden, for one. I've got a Mean Street, niiiice blade.

I, also, agree with Switchblade.....Thank God for BG..... Made it possible to get an ASH. Now bring me an ASH-1 in INFI.....

Id wait it out. The dollar is bound to come back sometime, and there will be loads of these and the AMS (which are way awesome) floating around the exchange.

Only problem with waiting for secondary market is that the already high dollar might not compare against the mark up value after its been offered. Either buy it from Busse for $350 or wait and end up paying $450 or more! There goes exchange right there. Still payin a load in the end no matter how u slice it.

Infi for choppers SR101 for smaller blades. I'm getting the BG version for sure. It looks phenomenal.

Or SJErgo. MSE is nifty but passing as well. Have a BIG AMS & that is good enough for me.

270 is pretty steep. I just ran it through an exchange rate and the knife itself 221 I guess the rest is shipping? It does throw a monkey wrench in buying.

You are correct..... I haven't checked lately but international shipping is around 57$ U.S. I do beleive that it's around 15$ per additional knife..... Convert that into Canadian currency ..... Ouch!

I live about a 7 hours drive away from the shop...... Maddening! That's closer than many folks within the U.S.

I once wanted to order a Scrapyvore....the price of shipping alone was the cost of the knife. Ended up getting it when Lennox proxied for me at Blade.

If you're out there, Len, thanks again!

I am of the mindset that the exchange rate is not getting better probably for a number of years. Along with the secondary market mark up I have decided if I want it now I suck it up and get it now. I spend a lot of time in the USA so generally I have stuff shipped to a mailbox service in Michigan and pick it up on my way through.
