As far as I know, it has not been modified in any way.
Edit: Here is a forum photo (owner of collection unknown) who has an identical Meaner St. (Top left knife in attachment at bottom)

This used to be mine and it is original in every way.

It was very common for Busse's to be sterile back when this knife was manufactured.

Good luck with the sale PP66, wish I had the funds to buy it back.
