You can use trigger pull gauges to deploy a flipper if the flipper tab is big enough & jimped.This adds some objectivity to
detent strength. I'm gun guy as well as a knife guy.

Got the idea from a YouTube where the author mention that the Wafarer's flipper
tap looked like a 1911's hammer.
