Mecha sent me some titanium...

That I understand. I had a stray piece of grit in a wooden saya and by the time I noticed there was a big scratch on my highly polished blade.

Ouch. Every time I put a new blade into its leather sheath, I pull it out and look to see if anything like that happened, due to a grain of sand or anything got into the sheath at some point. Sharp little grindings of titanium stick to shoes and sleeves and get around all over the place.

Yep, in my book mint means never used to cut anything, even a soft thing like a pumpkin or squash. I've cut hard bamboo and dirty branches with these things and saw nary a mark, but then other times have seen light visible scratches with no known cause at all. Even after all this time, titanium doesn't really make much sense. It defies what you would suppose, and is often the opposite of what you'd expect.
