Med-high end folder for edc/showoff?

I still vote for the Kershaw 1910 R.A.M. for an affordable, yet excellent, knife.

+1 for anything in the Benchmade 94* series. Also it is a little above your price range but worth looking at is the BM 960 it is a beautiful knife.

A Benchmade 635 can be had at that price. It looks cool even to non-knife people. And is cool to knife people. Titanium frame lock, S30V, I’m really liking mine.

Spyderco Caly 3 with the G-10 scales and VG-10 blade. The wire clip is very low profile and the knife almost disappears when in the pocket. The leaf shaped blade is just under 3 inches and has a flat grind. It is the first and only knife I own that has a pocket clip,it is a very handy knife.

I agree with all the Mcusta recommendations. This is one of their elegant yet well made damascus tactility models and here you can find it just within your budget:

A great, albeit larger, EDC folder is the Kershaw #1725CB JYDII Composite Blade (CPM-D2 edge). Another one in a similar size is their Blur in S30V. Both are US-made. For a 'Gentleman's Folder' - of the same name - their Made-in-Japan VG-10 bladed model (see below) is really 'nice'. They were dropped - again - this year but they are still floating around in the supply system. Evil-Bay has all of these for <$70 + s/h.

Buck has a great answer - for even less. It is likely the least expensive folder you'll find with S30V blade steel - and it's 'made in the USA' - the #347 Vantage Pro. The neat CNC made G10 handle scales are comfortable, roo - and the SS frame-lock works well - as does the flipper. Neat knife, compared (Favorably!) with a much more expensive Benschmade mini-Skirmish by me a few days earler here (More pix.). Their MSRPs? $252 vs $75 - that's right - the Buck #347 Vantage Pro is a steal... in a great steel!

The Benchmade #635 mini-Skirmish was dropped some time back, so it is hard to find. It has run as low as $125 to $200, so it's out of the limit you gave. Buck's nearest similar S30V folder after that Vantage Pro is their 172 Mayo TNT - MSRP $350.

Of course, my favorite folder is a Buck 110 - but it is large. You can get a 420HC steel bladed one from Wally World for $27 - or spend your limit ordering a custom one from Buck's Custom Shop in S30V and interesting scales. Lots of choices - check Buck's site for 'Build your own...'!
