I recently sent in a Viper I received in trade because of bad lock up and some blade play. Unknown to me or the trader (not original owner) the Viper had been opened by the original owner and really messed with. The screws were scored from crossthreading for a few levels, the pivot was tampered with as well as the lock bar being unsprung. Needless to say this was the worst case scenario for a high end trade. Every Medford knife comes with a company card with Greg's cell on it, I thought this was out of the ordinary and at the same time a really strong statement. I called Greg when I first got the knife and he took about 20 min out of lunch with a buddy to talk through the issues and tell me to send it in. Greg personally called me and disassembled the knife with me on speaker phone. The news he gave me was quickly offset with his need to make things right for me, the guy who wants to carry and use his folder for as long as I can. Greg went ahead and refitted the knife, and by that I mean replaced the Ti handle slabs, upgraded the detent to ceramic, and transferred the blade & upgraded Ti hardware to give me a new knife. The warranty on the Viper was void, I knew it and Greg knew it. Even so Medford took care of me. Did I pay to have the knife looked at? You bet(1 hour of shop time), but all the replacement parts and Greg's personal attention came gratis. I have owned many knives over the years and dealt with many shops. Medford ranks among the best, Greg and the team remind me of the Busse family. They are prepared to do just about anything within reason to take care of their customers. I can't say how much I appreciate them turning what could have been a disastrous situation into concrete relationship between me and a tremendous knife company.
 
Seems like the typical Medford story. I only have one on order at this, but while placing the order with Amy; Greg joined the call just to say hello and personally thank me for my order. Can't wait.
