After my move to Canada this Fall, I took advantage of the free health care and received a total medical check up. I went a long time with out getting one when I lived in the States because of the expense.:barf:

Getting a medical check up is an important facet survival that falls in the preparedness section. Knowing your BP, Cholesterol, BMI and etc, can tell you alot about where you are at and what you can do.

Most of the discussion here falls into acute survival but we often fall short on the elements that give us the best chances.

Wishing all a Merry Christmas:D

I try to get a check up at least twice a year due to the stress of my job. It's a good thing too because out of the blue after some blood tests I am having more tests for diabetes.
Hopefully it was just a high sugar level fluke but , if not I think it may have been caught early enough that I can make a lifestyle / food intake change and be okay.

EVERYONE , GET A PHYSICAL !

Merry Christmas Psy-Ops and good on ya for getting a check up.

I get a checkup every couple years w/blood work. BP checked on regular visits to the doc. I turn 40 in May so I'll be due for another Physical. Not looking forward to this one. Might end up looking like this-->

I guess I made it into that club.
I was a bit surprised it all happened so fast.

Annual checkups are a good way to keep baseline info.

I had always gotten them because my insurance paid for them, and the doc's nurse was hot.

Lucky for me, because about 7 months after one of them I was diagnosed with Hodgkins.

The chest xray and blood work allowed the docs to know how long before I had been clean.

Saved a lot of exploratory surgeries and procedures.

If you have insurance that will cover, get them.

I will admit that after the results came in I feel good about my future. If your health is sound that is one more base that is covered. If it is not you can get started getting back to a healthy state.

I get a full physical every two years. It does not include the stress test, but I am not aware of any heart problems.

I am required to get a physical every 2 years to keep my commercial driving license current. It is good preventative medicine.

JC that is where I went. I will be going back on my return to BC. I have a wrist tendon issue. Feels good to be covered.

Good to get regular checkups I get about six checkups a year prevention is much better than cures thanks to the VA and everyone who supports it.
