medium cost folding knives - my list and thoughts.

I dont know why people get so mad when we link each other to stuff, were just helping each other out, its not like were advertising for them, were just giving them as an option.

Man this is a hard decision lol..

There are sponsored dealers and non sponsored dealers. We can link to sponsored dealers but not to non sponsored ones. Knifeworks is a trusted dealer, but not a blade forums sponsor. It is okay to mention them, but not to link to their site. The reason for this is that if deal spotting were allowed (linking non sponsored dealers), the forums would quickly become clogged up with advertising threads by people linking their own sites or sites to which they had some affiliation.

Get a used one. There is nothing like a Strider folder. Trust this knut.
Strider and Glock are similar is design.

what do you use your knives for? that would help answer a lot I think, I know you said no spyderco but I must profess my love for the sage1, I work carpentry and carry it every day, cutting anything from plastic to scraping paint to shaping/scribing tiny pieces, its been perfect for me so far, but the itch for another something is coming soon Im afraid. Some of the knives you posted are more tactical style then slicing so a purpose would probably lead to a more specific answer, that $ range has a thousand awesome knives in it

As always, it comes down to personel preference. Read: what works for you.

For me, I've tried a bunch of knives in your range, but I keep coming back to my Buck Vantage Pro
for an EDC.

Kinda' like the olde Timex ads, "takes a lickin' and keep on " ... (lol)

Serious - you can get 3 (three) Vantage Pros for ONE of those others.

And just for something to "Swap out" ...why not.

Just an FYI. But S30V stays sharp forever, lifetime warr., G10 handles, yada, yada, yada, (LOL)

Really can't beat it for the dough. JMHO.

If you like the 810 then I suggest the 950 Rift. It is a little smaller but more refined IMO. It has a lot of blade for the handle length, like the 710. I've had a lot of knives pass through my hands and the 950 is still my favorite regardless of price.

I was gonna suggest the Rift. If I carry a BM, it's a Rift. Great for everyday utility uses. Something else you might want to look at, since you want something different from Spyderco, is the Bob Dozier tab lock folder that A G Russell is selling on his site. It's in your price and size range and you might end up liking D2 as Bob Dozier likes to do it.
