Medium Zermatt sheath for Farmer?

Anyone know how well this sheath fits a Farmer? I am wanting to have a tight fit and don't have access to one locally to see it in person. I would like it to fit snug so it doesn't bounce around and I am not carrying a larger sheath than necessary.

That's what I use for my Farmer each and every day. Not a tight fit by any means, but secure nonetheless. The end to end fit is perfect, but certainly not snug. It's the thickness fit where the medium Zermatt is larger than necessary when used to carry a Farmer. Using it I've never worried about losing my Farmer, nor do I notice the Farmer bouncing around.

It will fit the Farmer snuggly, since it fits the alox Electrician/Pioneer with a bit of wiggle room; that said, it's a pretty chinzy made in China item, and there are much better alternatives in this price range if you want to belt carry, open top or with flaps...

I've had two of those. One got chewed up. The other I gave away. They are nice, but they aren't in the same price range.

At $25-$30, they are 3-4 times the cost of a medium Zermatt which you can get for $8-$10. Also, they take up about 3 times the belt space of a medium Zermatt which must be considered if you carry anything else on the belt like a handgun holster.

Lastly, the medium Zermatt certainly isn't poorly made/"chinzy", nor do I believe its country of origin to be China.

Have you got any pictures or links for this sheath?

Just put "medium zermatt" in a search engine. They're still available for $7.50 each at the vendor I used to buy mine.

I paid $20.00 for mine, and it fits the Pioneer and Farmer; that said, the Zermatt indeed is made in China.

I guess those Chinese are getting clever at disguising the PointOfOrigen on their manufactured goods...I would.

Thanks guys. The multiple fits in the descriptions has me worried. I may get one and I may hold out and try to find something custom fit for the Farmer. I don't need to belt carry it often, but sometimes my pockets get crowded and a belt sheath would come in handy.

If the knife is loose inside the sheath I would just glue a strip of leather inside to decrease its internal dimensions and also cover the underside of the snap fastener which I can almost guarantee will not be covered on a sheath of that price , over time it will mark your knife .
Any time I make a sheath with a flap and fastener like that the inside is double lined to cover the fastener .

I know its an old thread, but I figured I would update. I finally purchased the medium Zermatt sheath for my Farmer. Its definitely not a custom fit, but it fits good enough for $10. Its not as tight as I would like, but the knife does not wobble around.

I've been using the Vic Medium Zermatt for a Farmer daily. Not once has their been an issue.

I saw a similar thread on another forum and the fellow glued a piece of foam inside to snug up the fit on his ALOX knife. I like those Zermatts for Swiss Champs, Champions etc but never tried one for Farmers since I use necker sheaths.

Here's some of my belt sheaths from the early 80's forward.

That looks a lot like El Paso Saddlery's work?

I use a sheath made by forum member Al Dodge, it has a slim profile, knife does not move around, and is grippy, if your flap opens it's not going to bounce out.

All pics are with the Farmer inside.
