I'm trying to recall the process of application numbers to acceptance numbers for a young man to make it into the Gurkhas. Something like 10,000 to 200?

Amazing men.

The thing that strikes me about the Gurkhas is their pride, whenever I saw them around the Sandhurst, Camberly, Frimley area out of uniform they were wearing regimental blazers, most soldiers would kill to get into Civvies!

Nice photos, did you get a good look at their collar badges? They looked like signallers to me. What were they collecting for?

One other thing, Brendan, you live in York? I went up there to look at the University and fell in love with the town, right now I am praying they give me a decent offer!
 
i live near York and yeah it is probably the best city in England !!

they were collecting to bring the gurkha vets out from Nepal to see the UK - gave them enough cash to pay a couple of Kamis a months wage and some !
