David,
There is only one preson I know of who is making sheaths like that .......... me. Those are a couple of my Southern Comfort sheaths. All my Bagwells (6) wear them. A couple of them have been carried a lot. They have "freeplay" built in and do not scratch the blades, just as Rob said. (Rob knows his stuff and is a very talented sheathmaker.) They also have a no rattle lock up, and a smooth no drag draw from concealment. Hell of a lot of things going at the same time in a sheath and not particularly easy to do, or you'd see more people try. If I get time to take pictures of my Bagwells without the sheaths I will. (I've posted some in other threads.) I've got two I can post here. The Belle with the Ebony handle is my main carry, about 10.75" blade. The Bowie with the Cocobolo handle has a 10.5" blade.
The knives pictured with the picture of Bill Bagwell are some he had on hand the last time I visited his shop. I believe the two Bird's Head knives belong to Bob Furusho. The top one is called a Vidalia Maiden and I'm pretty sure Bill has one made to sell at the Classic.
