Members from Australia..... Tell us about Australia, and if you can, with pictures?

Bloody Aussies, they think 20C is cold, we have chicks here walking around rugged up and wearing UG-Boots for the love of God! ;)

Amazing pics. I think a lot of us in the US have always been fascinated with Australia, I know I have.

What a great topic. Thanks to the OP for starting it, as well as those who have written back so far. I know the grass is always greener, but the pictures have made me dream of emmigration -- I'm willing to learn to love Vegemite!

This is one of the best threads in a long time. Great stuff fellas!! I hope to make it down there some day. Such a diverse place, and if the few folks I have met from there are any indication, the residents seem very cool and laid back.

Mick Dundee got me interested :D

Australia is far too large and diverse to try and sum up in words so I'll just add some more pics.

I'll upload more later if I have the space to host them. These I already had online as they're mostly recent trips.

Wow, great thread with some AWESOME pics. Australia seems like a great place to visit. Doubt I will ever get to go there, but it would be pretty sweet.

Though I have enjoyed watching the Mears episodes in Australia, I have appreciated the Bush Tucker Man series even more (have the complete DVD collection). Ray Mears also included Les Hiddens (Bush Tucker Man) in his DVD, 'Ray Mears Goes Walkabout'. All great stuff, IMO.

How does one go about procuring this series?

Maul you say? Hmmm.. I'll just eat a few more leaves and ... YAWN ... bugger it, go maul yourself, I've got some serious relaxing to do.

You know Fred, things have got real confusing since these white buggers showed up ...

In the background are the Brindabellas, south of Canberra and part of the Great dividing Range. They lead directly into the Snowy Mountains a bit further south. The old boy and I have wandered around a good chunk of it.

That's a collection of amazing pictures - thanks all.

I will never visit Australia - too broke, too hot and too many poisonous biting things but I would really to meet all you gentlemen from down under. I didn't realize there was so many of you on this forum.

Like DannyboyLeather, I really enjoyed the Bushtucker Man series. I think I have most of them. It used to be regularly shown on a local tv network - APTN, which stands for Aboriginal People's Television Network, and it included aboriginal peoples from all over. Les Hiddins had what a lot of people would consider the ideal job. Too bad the series is finished.

Anyway, Cheers, mates! :D
