Somehow this has turned into a very funny thread. Thanks for AM chuckles.

Probably 75% of my email is scams and porno ads. I don't know how to filter them so before I start reading in the AM I delete all the obvious BS and take it from there. Only downside is once in a great while I delete an email I shouldn't have.
 
wants to know if they can run an extension cord to your power line, and if...maybe...you'd let them hook up a bootleg connection to your cable.

Apparently, aside from the unearthly screams now and then, it's a fairly boring covert op.

I don't list it because I had people email me that I don't wish to deal with. Please don't take offense. I can tell you that its no one that hangs out here anymore!

I am going to set up another email account just for bladeforums---my other one had my last name in it--bad security choice on my part. I have to protect my family's safety. I too was a little spooked by Dave's experience.

It may take me a few days to get this done, but I really don't like the idea that I'm preventing you guys from getting ahold of me:(

I have had great luck with using an offshore hotmail account everytime I give contact info out on the net. My home address is only for friends, Paypal, Ebay, and a couple of other places which have good credibility. ;)

I have had the address you see now since 1996 and only get one or two spams every other day. The @$$holes haven't found me yet. However my hotmail account is perpetually full with junk.

Regulatory law ought to impose heavy fines against spammers. I pay for my account in order NOT to be spammed, and I regard any covert installation of programs, popups or unwanted adverts as an infringement on my right to privacy.

A class-action suit against people that distribute porn ads to multiple accounts, which include minors, ought to stop some of the offending material.

I think that people are almost fed up enough to fight back.
 
There's not a lot of junkmail with yahoo's mail service. I've gotten 2 in the last 8 months that I've used it.

I always found hotmail to have lotsa garbage, even when using the filters.
