Memento for a friend (Fillet Knife)

You guys are so nice, I really appreciate the compliments. :o

So when will you be posting the sheath with a lobster tooled on it? Will the presentation box look like a lobster trap?...

That's too funny Phil, in the original sketches I made, one of them had a lobster claw shaped handle. :D

Thanks.

A small correction on Mr. Wallace's age, he is 89 not 85. I sure hope I am in half the shape he is in at his age. :o

As promised, a little update.

I went to Maine and gave the knife and stand to Mr. Wallace.

They were a little pressed for time since the weather was deteriorating and they had to go on the boat. Remember he is 89. He still told me a little more about his boat. He had it for 40 years, not 50. Had it built in 1971 for 14,000$ and payed an extra 500$ to have it done in mahogany.

Too bad they had to go cause I am pretty sure he could have talked to me about the boat and the life he spent on the water for the rest of the day and then some.

And you know what? I would have listen religiously and enjoyed every bit of it.

I bet he's got some stories to tell. I could spend hours listening as well.
Thank you for sharing.

In a community full of great people, Patrice really stands out as one of the kindest guys I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

Patrice, I've looked at this knife several times since you posted it.
In many ways, this is the most impressive knife you've ever made. To me at least.
I think this knife has better flow and definitely more interest than many knives I've seen, of any kind.
It took me awhile to figure that out, and to me, that only adds to the sincerity of my impression of this knife.
If you were to ask my advice, I would say to make the most of this project.
The impact of that, no one will ever know but you.
I see this as a watershed knife.
No pun intended.

Thanks guys, I am sure glad I could share this with you.

Eric :o, I do try and give as much as I've received. Plus, giving and bringing a little happiness to peoples lives is so rewarding that you could even say that I am doing it for selfish reasons. :o

Lorien, I appreciate the compliments. PM sent
