Me either...I have the DVD...I remember the guy whittling the little model while he was in the tail of the plane...I'll have to dig the DVD out and see if it's a [recognizable] Buck... :p

A friend bought it at the weekend and asked me to see if i could find out anything, i will try and get some pics and more info on it, i haven't even seen it :-)

...That is kewl!!!...

A 119 Special with a wood grip!!! Maybe you should email Billy Zane and find out if he's missing one!!! :D

A standard 119BR ( cocobola) ?
With engraved blade...
Neat knife! It would be neat to know the history of this one!
Jim

Looks like brass in my pictures...
Wood color is hard to tell on my monitor :D
I was guessing a 119BR thats all!

I need to rent that one again. I know he ( Billy Zane ) was in Sniper with Tom Beringer, but I don't remember him in Memphis Belle...Was he a tail gunner or what? Nice knife, though. Take care, Rob

I'm almost sure he was the bombardier/navigator...with a mustache... :D

I can't find my DVD!!! Darned kids!!! :grumpy: Ever since that Phillips commercial, they flip these things all over the place... :(

I look, in reverence, at the movies about WWII. One thing I have learned, in my not-so-short stay on this planet is that the veterans of that era are very deserving of the title: "The Greatest Generation".
{ back on topic } That seems like a big knife for whittlin'....( may have been the only one available to the character at the time. ) rdogout
p.s. I am biased, partly because my father was in the Pacific campaign. He was a Seaman First Class Gunner's Mate on U.S.S. New Mexico.

Thanks for the input guys, i tried to cntact billy zane but came across a brick wall. Is there a way to contact buck about it ?

My friend says he bought it to sell so if anyone is interested let me know.

My dad would get a kick out of that knife. he was a navigator(or he calls:"navi-guesser") on a B-17 for the 482nd BG"Pathfinders"(the first BG to have radar bombing capability) ;)

You want a good documentary of Marines in WWII, go to Amazon.com and Search "Our Time In Hell" on VHS...It was a TV documentary with Lee Marvin narrating...about an hour, but really good...

The title is explained by Marvin in the first minute; it's from an old poem...

"When I die and go to Heaven
To St. Peter, I shall tell
One more Marine reporting, Sir!
I've served my time in Hell!"

While on the subject of Marines, besides Marvin, Steve McQueen also served in the Corps...

Right he wants to sell it and he is interested in offers over £60, if anyone is interested drop me a mail at steve @ maceweb . com
