Mercworx?

I liked the Seraphym's looks... a lot. And I went through a period in time when I was on a big push-knife kick, but I never got to the pay-$275-for-one level...

I was really looking closely at the BM CBK, how is it, Esav?

Ha! I also was close to buying a Seraphym, until I saw that Wilson Tactical added a D2 push dagger to their lineup for $200:

However, I had an attack of cheapness and ended up buyin a CBK. Extremely sharp, and yes I managed to cut myself pulling the knife out of the sheath. Very minor but could have been nasty. Several people complained that the metal handle needed a cord wrap. It felt OK to me plain, but a little better with the cord. The sheath is an interesting design and very secure. I took off the clip that came on the sheath and attached a small Tek-Lok. Now it's my hiking knife where I'm not actually going to do any camping and don't want to carry a heavy or bulky blade. Mountain lions, Look out!

Well, as promised, here I am to give y'all my opinion about my new Lachesis....for what it's worth, my opinion I mean.
I've had it for about three days now, and I've been putting off the eval until I can come to terms with whether I really really like it, or am I just settling. Yeah, it was expensive, I paid $320 + shipping for mine, and they were out of stock so I had to wait. Just like I'm still waiting for my Vorax Chili, but I'm patient. Now, on to the eval....
Overall, I like this knife....big beefy blade, I really like the grind and shape. MercWorx seems to use the same general shape for all of their blades. I would expect this shape and width to be on a larger knife, especially a folder, but this feels surprisingly smooth in your hand. The detractor to this would be the knife feels a little off balance, front end heavy if you know what I mean. I think this has alot to do with the choice of micarta for the scales. A heavier material would probably balance it out just fine. Personally, I think that they have worked out any of those quality control issues they might have had on other folders, because this one is very smooth. Tight. Nice lock-up. Good closed. Blade sits in the middle of the channel just right. The bolsters are ok, nothing fancy, nothing cheap, but I can live with 'em. Those scales though....I don't have anything against micarta really, but these scales seem just a little thin? small? I don't know, but I'd probably prefer something a little more substantial than the factory micarta. I do have to say that the color match of the micarta with the Ti bolsters is very nice. They go well together. This knife comes with a pocket clip and a thumb stud installed, but due to the position of the clip, it makes ambidexterous use difficult. Also, the holes for the clip are only on one side, so the clip can't be mounted on the other side for lefties without some machine work, which I'd leave to a bladesmith. There is a hole at the rear end that "could" be used for a lanyard, but why? The lock mechanism is obviously a liner lock, although for some reason that surprised me. I would have expected something a little classier on a knife this expensive. The blade itself is stamped BG-42 on the backside and has the MercWorx logo and LACHESIS on the front. I don't know about anybody else out there, but mine came from the factory pretty darned sharp. Sharp enough for my purposes anyway. Nope, I haven't done any real cutting yet, ropes, cord etc. but I will eventually. As for carry, this is actually a great knife. That clip I was complaining about earlier, well it is actually positioned pretty well for front pocket carry, and lets the knife sit low enough to not be conspicuous, but high enough to get ahold of without having to go digging for it when you need it.
All in all, It's a good knife. Not GREAT for the money, but I don't feel burned. That pretty much seems to be the standard these days though. I'll be carrying this one for quite awhile I think....at least until another little beauty catches my eye.... : - )

Where can i buy the Vorax Chili knife for $80 less?

I love the look and size of the blade :)

Thanks!

I posted pics a couple of weeks ago of my Lachesis, a 3 1/2" folder of BG42 steel and green micarta handles. I really like it, smoooth, stout and feels good in my hand.
