Quick pic of my latest model in the works with the Rhino flipper. It flicks open extremely fast without a wrist whack or an extra appendage extending beyond the spine of the handle. I'm fishing for opinions/ thoughts on the blade and handle profile. Also like some thoughts on the bolster arrangment. Opted for the blue twill G10 since this is going to be a prototype and I haven't used it before.

Lee, that's a very fresh design. I like it. Clean and seemingly simple.

I'd like it a lot more without that cheesy G10. That's just me, but you asked. :)

I like it. It's very clean but has refinement and looks usable. My own personal preferences are to not have a recurve, have a "little" more inset to keep the fingers from sliding up onto the blade, and the biggest is that I really don't like liner locks. I prefer framelocks or perhaps really beefy liner locks. All these are, of course, just my preferences as to what I look for in a knife I'm going to use. The blade shape looks very nice and efficient.
 
I like the overall design of the knife. Very much so as a matter of fact. Particularly the bolster and the way the blade drops along the spine.

Some things I don't like. The slight recurve looks too much like a bad grind. I think the transition at the top curve needs to be smoother and less sharp. I would actually prefer no recurve there, but that's just me.

The pin positions need to be looked at. The 3 small ones along the center line would look better if they were spaced equally apart. And I'm not sure what the two small ones up front along the diagonal with the pivot pin are for. Looks a bit cluttered there. Don't know if there's a way to not have them without losing structural integrity of the knife. That bolster looks so good that I think having more than the pivot pin in it really takes away from its cleanness and elegance.

Just my nit picks as a knife buyer though. I can't even begin to make any kind of knife so hats off to you as a maker.

Coop, I'm not sure about the blue twill on this knife either, but I haven't used it before and thought a prototype would be a good place to check it out. Got one more of these I/P, thinking Carpathian elm burl if I go the bolstered route. As for the grind, it is smooth, just not finished and the pic is a quickie.

I REALLY like how you did the flipper thing.
simple, and unobtrusive.
Nothing to get caught on in your pockets.
 
Thanks again. Guess I should have been more clear in my description at the start. This knife is nowhere near finished, just wanted opinions on the overall aesthetics of the design.

I agree about the flipper with Walking Man. I think it's a great unobtrusive design as well.
