Merkur quality??

Thanks Gollnick for the link.

Thanks U-G for the response. I'm after aggressive razors these days so I've changed my mind on the Jagger. Been most impressed by your vast collection of vintages though. You get them from the Bay or?

Thanks, W

Yes you can get them from the bay or merkur slots and I can only recommend them too!

Oops I missed that question:o I haven't bought a single vintage razor off the bay, I have gotten most of them in the wild, flea markets, antique stores and such, or through buy and sells on shaving forums. I have been lucky enough to have been given a few for free too, those are the best ones to get, and I never sell or give away a razor that was given to me, once something has been gifted to me it becomes a prized possession:02.47-tranquillity:.

ACHTUNG!! Finally got round to doing something about the defective Merkur 34, but TOO LATE!

Warranty has been changed on their razors from limited lifetime, to 10 years now down to 2:grumpy::barf:

Plating is not included as it's wear and tear This is a big change, and I see in other forums that people are not happy with Merkur over this, nor am I. A sobering thought if you are thinking about buying one of their more expensive and complex razors. caveat emptor

As I can't buy these nice vintage razors I see many of you have (they seem unobtainable in Scandinavia) I have to buy new DE. I'm considering Muehle now, Edwin Jagger is perhaps not aggressive enough for my liking.

Give the Muhle R41 a try, super aggressive. What sort of vintage razor would you be interested in, I wont be going out searching till the new year but I could keep an eye out for you.

Thanks, that's a very decent gesture!

Don't know yet, have to look through the threads a bit, something old but in good order from Gillette, and an aggressive one.
