Disregard. Its not LNIB and lightly used. Thanks.
I posted this same question at Spyderco forums but I wanted to post it here as well.
Some time ago I purchased a PE Merlin that is LNIB with a custom neck sheath for it. Since then it has sat around and gathered dust. I'm thinking of putting it to use or trading it off for something I will use.
I haven't used it for several reasons. One is that it is plain edged, and I feel that a hawkbill screams to be serrated. The second is that I don't know how collectible this knife is and if it is, I think it would be a shame to beat it up when it could be of more value to someone who collects spydercos.
If it isn't THAT collectible, I'll probably begin to carry and use it. If it is, I'll probably trade it off and would like to know what value range I should be aiming for. Is a LNIB Merlin a valuable or sought after collector's piece? If so, is there a price range I should aim for tradewise? If not, how does a plain edged hawkbill perform compared to a serrated one? I'll probably try to pick up a serrated yellow tasman in the coming weeks anyhow.
Thanks
Pete
ETA: there is one on ebay now for $46 buy it now. The seller claims that it is marked down because there is no box and it was a display.
