Merry Christmas. And best wishes for Bo as he pursues his education. Two years of community college followed by two or three years at a university is an excellent means to a BS or BA and a post secondary education. My your next year be one filled with joy.
 
Thank you for posting this LAN! When I saw Bob’s avatar it brought a smile to my face. I have such fond memories of your father. I know he has looked down and no doubt is filled with pride that you have greeted all of us with Holiday Wishes. He is also proud that we can all now put a face to Bo, the grandson that he loved so very much. Wishing you and your family all the best during this blessed Holiday Season.
 
Try and enjoy a Merry Christmas. While his absence is felt, I hope reflecting on all the good memories will cheer y'all up.

Thanks for posting this update, it was nice to hear from you. We're going through some similar feelings this year, I lost my dad back in February. Like you mentioned, tears, laughter, but it's good to let it out. I hope you are able to make the best out of the holidays.

I know how you are feeling... I lost my dad on 30th November this year. So the first christmas without beloved Dad.

I wish you and your family strength and an optimistic look in the future.

Haven't been around in a while, then saw this thread. To Bob's loved ones and friends, and all who knew him, I wish a simple message of peace, comfort and Joy on this day.
 
I didn't know Bob but he must have been one heck of a guy. Merry Christmas to you all, and may the new year bring some comfort and healing for you and your family.

Bob left a hole in your lives that will never be filled, but over time, the edges will become less sharp.
 
Thank you all for the very kind messages. We had a very quiet day yesterday with only us and my Mom. Mom gave Bo a very special gift that my Dad made back in September. We didn't know he made it, but Dad had put together a collage of pics of Bo growing up over the years. Many of just the two of them together. Some with the whole family. I don't know if you're all familiar with the tune, but he set the background music to Van Morrison's "These Are the Day's". Such a bittersweet gift and song that had us in tears, but smiling and hugging each other while watching it. I will try to upload it sometime (if I can figure it out) to share with you all.
In retrospect, it seems Dad knew he was nearing the end with some of the things he did such as this. So wonderful.
