Wonderful kindness Tim  Can I enter on behalf of someone else please? I have one of these beautiful knives, one of GEC's best stainless offerings so I feel ineligible :)

Good luck to all who are good of heart who enter

Thanks, Will

Thank you, Tim, I'm all about GEC's 440C. My favorite holiday food is my maternal grandfather's "Pop's Christmas Pie." Think of the best pecan pie, and then add golden raisins and chocolate chips. Sweeter than bee pollen and perfect under a dollop of vanilla bean ice cream. My mom's side of the family always had a BIG sweet tooth!
Happy Holidays to All!

Here is my traditional Christmas present opening knife with a stocking stuffer from a couple years ago.

Wow, what a GREAT knife for a giveaway! Love me some GEC stainless. Appreciate the opportunity (and a chance to see all the good food ideas). My favorite Christmas time treat, having lived in Ohio for a good while, is Buckeye treats. It always confused me why we make treats that look EXACTLY like a somewhat poisonous nut, and give them to kids… anyways, they’re delicious but a pain in the butt to make.

For my themed knife picture, you can’t get much more festive than red (bone) and green (micarta) in front of my kids’ tiny tree.

If he will accept, I would like to enter on behalf of 321Bandaid 321Bandaid . He was a winner in the last GAW that I did, but he entered for another member and I would like to return the favor.

I'm in!

Ever since I started getting into traditional knives I have longed for a stainless steel GEC. For whatever reason, my body really seems to rust carbon steel knives. I've never really carried any of my GECs regularly for that reason. There are a few that occasionally get pocket time, but they are mostly safe queens for me. I'd love to have a GEC I could carry.

My favorite holiday dish is goose. I'll never understand how people were convinced to switch to turkey from goose.

Edit to add Photo and explanation:
Now that I have said that I don't understand why people switched from goose to turkey, here is a photo of my thanksgiving turkey this year:

It is not a great photo, I didn't think to take more. This was a young tom that I took on a friend's property, using my great-great-grandfather's gun. I braised it using some of the last of the wine from the vineyard we used to own and bone broth I made. It is an underwhelming photo, but the bird tasted great. I'm still more partial to goose, but I was very thankful to have this little tom on hand when our planned Thanksgiving at my father's needed to be canceled due to illness. I need to go to the butcher and get myself a goose so that I can have a dinner more like the one eisman eisman posted below for Chrismukah this year (Christmas and Chanukah overlap this year).

And I just wanted to say thanks to Jody744 Jody744 , I truly appreciate it.

Not in but this thread is making me hungry! 😋

Good on you pmek5 pmek5 . 👍 The world needs more generosity and good will like this. It's one my favorite gestures - regardless of any of our differences. Showing that you can be open and caring towards people you don't personally know w/o expecting anything in returns creates a positive impression and is inspiring to others. Thank you! 🫡

Merry Christmas All!

My favorite holiday food is the pumpkin chiffon pie that I make. When I was growing up my father made it for both Thanksgiving and Christmas and I have continued the tradition. Light and fluffy with a much better flavor profile than standard pumpkin pie. For me it’s just not Thanksgiving or Christmas without this pie.

My wife usually makes dozens of Christmas tree ornaments every year. This year, due to health issues, she has reduced her production. These are a sampling of this year’s ornaments.
