Merry Christmas GAW - Winner! Post #12

A big Buck Knife, a medium rare standing rib roast, and some side fixings make for a great Christmas dinner. Merry Christmas to pmek5 pmek5 (thank you for the GAW) and to all the folks on this forum. I want to enter and give my chance to abbydaddy abbydaddy a generous fellow himself - maybe you can get that SS GEC for your Christmas present! OH
Thank you very much, I really appreciate it :)

Thank you for the opportunity and Happy Holidays to all!

One of my many favorite snacks during the Christmas time...German style glazed gingerbread cookies!

Funny, we've eaten beef roast a lot of Christmas dinner. It is a nice break from the thanksgiving meals. I didn't know it was traditional in the old country.

Merry Christmas all, and thanks for the chance pmek5 pmek5 .

I've used my Buck 192 on a few roasts.

It's our favorite for Christmas Dinner - ordered an 8 lbs Angus standing rib roast Friday, picking it up noon on Monday. Gotta dig out that Buck 120 stag and let it earn its keep once more. OH

Thanks for the generous (and mouthwatering) GAW, Tim!!:cool::thumbsup:
I'd like to enter on behalf of Jeff black mamba black mamba .
My favorite Christmas food has to be "treats" I associate with Christmas.
• I like most kinds of Christmas cookies, even the simple sugar cookies (with the colored icing) cut into shapes like bells, Christmas trees, stars, Santas, etc.
• When I was a lad, we had a Christmas "program" every year at church, during which kids from various Sunday School classes would sing Christmas songs. At the end of the show, every kid got a sizable bag of goodies containing fruit, nuts, and candy. The bag usually contained an orange, which was often the only orange I would eat all year.
• I'll say my VERY FAVORITE was Dutch banket (I think marzipan is very similar), almond paste wrapped in flaky pastry, usually shaped like a log/stick about 18" long with a diameter of about 1.5". One of my grandmas baked many batches of these around Christmas time and distributed them to the families of all her kids. I haven't had it in years!

Happy Christmas and Blessed 2025 to everyone at BF, and best wishes to all the GAW participants! 🤓:cool:
