hey guys.. how goes it...

well christmas is almost here and as with most folks we're a bit on the broke side... it's no big deal... our kids are the most imortant.. in terms of gift giving.... the misses and i had only planned on getting each other a few little things....

anyhow... many thanks to my/our good buddy BOOMSTICK... i now am the proud new owner of this waaaaay cool Yucca quiver.... Darren and his girlfriend Trish, are going to be out of town during x-mas, so we exchanged gifts last weekend...
these are made out of the hollowed out stocks of yucca trees.... they were also used by CA. native americans, as well indigenous peoples of south america....

this one is really cool... it's a 2 strap quiver, intended to be worn like a backpack... it fits my arrows fit in nice and deep... it matches my primitive bows quite well...

it also has some sheep skin lining the inside of the opening... keeping the noise down to a minimum....

and well i got you all here.... check these out....................

seeing how i get knives and sharp things on a regular basis, through out the year, i rarely get any for x-mas... these were a gift to myself... well David and I worked out a nice trade...

for those of you that don't know David.. he's a stand up guy and super easy to do buisness with... he's a regular on quite a few forums....
his knives are all reasonably priced and insanely sharp.... i don't think i have ever found any that compare...

check out todays haul.... 4 Farmer knives in one day...

from top to bottom: osage utility in 1095, nordic utility in O1 and teak scales, personal in osage and 1095 and a small necker in 1095 and teak... none of these knives, with the exception of the necker, have sheaths, so i have a lot of leather work to get started on...

i loooooove this nordic utility.... this is davids full tang version of a puuko.. the lines just seem to flow and it nestle's right into my hand...

here's the osage utility.. another great design.. super comfortable in the hand and of course, wicked sharp....

and now the osage personal.... this is a great all around little knife... David sells a lot of these... it's going to make a nice EDC blade...

i forgot to take another pic of the necker...

cheers.. mike t

great looking quiver  also, that nordic hunter is up ther with the coolest things ever. looks like a great design. enjoy them.

i like that nordic hunter alot, it looks really cool.

nice leather work too!

Was wondering who picked up that nordic from Farmer! It's a good looking blade. I wish he'd do thicker slabs, but that's pretty much the only suggestion I'd have.

Nice score on the knives. I have one Farmer and like you say, it is insanely sharp. And the quiver, well, it is beautiful.

Great score on the xmas gift as well as those Farmer's.

David makes a great working blade that just egs to be used.

I love that Nordic one!

Ya, boomstick was so stoked about giving you that quiver, especially when you got all mad that he picked it up before you could!

That is a super cool quiver. And that Scandi utility is AWESOME!!!

Marry Christmas to you and the family from the Mrs. and I, in case we don't talk to you before then.

Man that quiver is dope Mike. I really like it!!

Farmers knives are insanely sharp. Awesome blade for sure. I love the osage utility.

Nice haul!!

thanks for all the comments folks... i am loving these knives...:)

spooky--- i hear what you mean on the thin scales... i have a fairly small hand, so these all fit my hand perfectly.. on some knives the scales are waay too bulbous for my hands... making it hard to get a sure grip... these good be a little thicker, i guess...

that was pretty funny.... crazy ol' Bommer, pulling a fast one on me... i was mad, when he got that quiver...:o he knew that i wanted it... he planned on giving it to me all along... now i have it..:D:D

i hope you folks have a Merry Chrismas as well...

That's a really nice quiver and definitely some nice blades.

I would like to get into archery seriously and I think it would be great as my son gets older as well.

Merry Christmas to you and your family.

(I meant to post this up earlier but got distracted with my son when he got sick from his stomach flu).

right on.. thanks..

archery is a great family sport indeed... my wife and both my boys, are all longbow shooters...:D my oldest is 10 and has been shooting since he was 5.. and my little one Cypress is 5 and has already been shooting about a year.. they both rock..:)

Archery is alot of fun. Troy, Mike is the guy whose brain you wanna pick for info when you are ready. He helped me alot, and had a hand in turning me on to longbows as opposed to recurves. He makes really awesome leather tackle, and arrows too. I have a dozen from him. Good ones indeed!!

Indeed, that quiver is very awesome Mike  Right on boomer :)

I do like the look of the osage and nordic utility pieces, very nice!!

Merry Christmas to you and yours Mike!

I dig that quiver. I have a hankering to go shoot a bow.

Those Osage knives are my favorites that I have seen on this site. One of these days Im gonna order a custom and its going to have to be osage .

Brilliant! Yuccas are all over the local mountains and high desert, I would have never thought of this! Gonna have to go get me a couple of dead ones. Awesome quiver, sweet knives! I have been eyeing his blades for a while now.
