Greetings,

I came across some wood at our local cedar yard. The young man I dealt with told me he had played around the yard 30 years ago... and he remembers playing on this old pile when he was a boy. It has layed out in the Texas heat for at least 30 years. All the wood is well cured and clean. I've cut these scales myself... Most is quarter sawn to get the best profile. The Pecan is really well cured and as hard as they come... you'll need sharp tools to machine this stuff. Most are at least 5/16 x 2 x 5 1/2". If you have a special size your looking for. You will need to pay for shipping if I'm going to come out ahead on these. I have about 25 set of Mesquite and 15 Pecan... I can cut more but this is all I have right now. The Mesquite is $4 a pair and the Pecan is $5 a pair.

Can you tell us in the pictures above, which ones are pecan and which ones are mesquite?

Greetings,

I'm sorry I didn't specify... the top picture is the Mesquite (more red) all heart wood. The pecan is the second picture, these are quarter sawed. More of a golden color. In the third picture I'm showing how many I have... about 25 Mesquite and 10 Pecan...

Does the Pecan have a lot of checks and or voids? I'd be in for a couple if not. Thanks!
