Mesquite drop point !!

Blade is ATS-34 stainless steel, 2 7/8 inches long x 7/8 inch wide, with 600 grit hand rubbed finish. Scales are south Texas mesquite with hand rubbed oil finish. Thanks, Alan.

beautiful blade & leather alan. did you stabilize the mesquite? i/ve heard it cracks easily if not treated.---dennis

Mesquite often has natural cracks and voids, that is part of it's beauty ,but is actually one of the most stable woods there is, if cured correctly.You can see one of the natural voids in the bottom pic, left side center. I have been working with mesquite as a carpenter/ furniture maker for 25 years, however if mesquite is used when it is still green it will twist, turn, shrink and crack.Thanks, Alan.
