Chopsticks!!!! who uses chop sticks? I see them in titanium, carbon fiber, folding, lightweight and so on. If God had meant me to use chop sticks he would have had me born in China. Anyways how many wars have we fought against the chopstick eating countries. They will have to pry my titanium spork form my cold dead hand. Semper Fi

Hmmm, chopsticks are actually very capable and useful tools if you know how to use them. Compared to the fairly awkward spork. I would actually prefer them to a spork unless I was eating soup. Its pretty easy to drink the broth right from the bowl and pick out any goodies with the chopsticks. I guess growing up a 'haole' in Hawaii has taught me to be quite proficient with those little sticks.

Cause I do all my camping on a barebones Harley, I carry a folding sterno stove, a 6 inch revereware frying pan, and a plastic cup with a lid with sugar and tea inside. For utensils, my knife. McDonalds will give ya one of those breakfast utensil packs if ya ask nice when ya buy a small drink or something.

The Marina store is small and doesn't carry nearly the gear San Jose does. I was disapointed. (Though I did walk out with a full bag of stuff. :D)

Have you made it to Mel Cotton's yet?

Nah, I'm lucky I made it to REI this morning. Still the chief sitter while the daughter works, but the wife didn't go to visit her mom, so she watched the twins and I got out of dodge for a couple hours.

Reminds me, while there, I spotted the Snow Peak 3 piece titanium cookset. Only weighs a bit over 7oz., so I think that's gonna make it's way into my pack instead of the SP Trek .7 pot.

how do wars and chopsticks compare?? Im lost in that logic.

anywho, ive always liked that wooden drinking gourd thing that ray mears carrys around. some of you may have seen it. Ive got to get one of those.

OK, instead of titanium, I found a cheap SS cookset by Snow Peak that has a pot, bowl shaped plate, lid and handle for $11.95. It weighs 8.5oz, which is close to the USGI cup. So that's the way I'm gonna go and see how it works out.

I carry a set in each pack and use a set here at home on occasion. My dad gave me my first set when I was a kid and I've used them ever since.
