Hello. I posted already this message at the end of my mini review of the HAK i recently purchased, but i'd like to make sure his customers can get it, so i'll post it again in the general forum to give it more exposure.

William says that he expects to have the wave of midnight (tiger claws and straights) shipped over the next two days.
He is just shipping everything as fast as possible rather than checking his mail so please do not worry even if your reservation is from December 2.

Also note - artemisweapons@yahoo.com is generally good for same day response - frontsight9mm@yahoo.com will take much more time.

News is - DLC S30V midnight hybrid production will be in soon in quantity, also 440C straight duracoated HideAways in Leo Blue, Olive Drab and Crimson. Many Coogler Customs due in this week.

Thanks everybody.

Let’s see if we can find the right forum …

I empathize with those jerked around by the "FrontSite" BS, but "William" is not a paying dealer or member on BFC !

pollo. . . .I'm glad your elated with your transaction with "William," but what you posted is nothing more than free advertising for a non-paying member hawking his wares. :jerkit:

hey, i am sorry. i thought some people could be interested to know that their knife is shipping. i wasn't trying to advertise HAKs.

About my posting in Reviews/testing, i just wanted share about what i think it's a very good product and a fast and honest transaction. it is an opinion.

"William" is the owner, not a dealer, IIRC. Lots of knifemakers knives, collaborations or otherwise, are frequently mentioned in this forum. Members are interested in the success of William's efforts, the cooperation of other successful makers, and the availability of models, along with other non-paying makers whose knives are posted on here.

I don't see pollo shilling for HAK, just keeping members informed on production availability. Those who are really wanting the knives homepage their computer and update regularly to purchase them, so a mention here will probably not impact sales to any great degree - he'll sell out before the casual forumite bothers to check.

He is just shipping everything as fast as possible rather than checking his mail so please do not worry . . . Again, a small entreprenuer with few if any employees is asking for consideration. The overwhelming demand from customers is bringing makers back on board, and we should all be a little envious. Demand like this is why Hinderer, Randall, etc can't ship on receipt of order, or even take them in some cases. Good company to be in.

As anyone whose read my posts on the matter knows, I've been waiting a year for something in my size that I can afford. Not going into my usual rant about it, but I'm pleased to know that some Utility Straights (Although colored, been planning on a plain steel cheap version) are finally coming out. Just watch, they won't be in my size again and I'll be at this another year. Even if they do make one for me, I have to choose from 'I'm wearing camouflage underwear', 'This kind of matches my jeans when they're new' and 'Just so you can see I have a knife in my hand from forty feet away, I got it in red'. I'll admit the LEO/military focus is a good move, though. Red, just flashy.

The company is catering towards a bigger wallet with their custom stocks and these production SV30 models. I'd like the fancy things if I could afford them, but now you're telling me even their cheap ones have that thirty dollar finish on them? For a Utility HAK's price, I could get two Subcoms plus shipping. I accepted that, kept checking for my sizes. These colored models will be a hundred bucks each. That's FOUR Subcoms, and the benefits of the HAK are overpriced by the time you get to three. I'm glad the company has stayed afloat, but by ignoring their cheaper models they're ignoring a demographic. If a knife is expensive, but useful, it's worth it. If it's ridiculously expensive but the same amount of useful, I'm not buying it.

Thanks for splitting hairs.

BEGIN BUSINESS 101:

There are several business entity options available for entrepreneurs. The oldest, most common, and simplest form of business organization is a sole proprietorship. A sole proprietorship is a business entity that is virtually indistinguishable from its owner. In other words, the owner is the "chief cook and bottle washer." Examples of sole proprietorship would include a freelance photographer or writer, a craftsperson who takes jobs on a contractual basis, a salesperson who receives only commissions, an independent contractor who isn't on an employer's regular payroll, and the vast majority of custom knife makers and knife purveyors that participate on and outside this forum.

On the other hand, a "dealer" is typically someone who purchases and maintains an inventory of goods to be sold.

END BUSINESS 101:

Yet you write. . . .

Hmmmm. . . . .take your pick !

pollo posted William's "availability" in the original thread discussing FrontSite / HideAwayKnives. Which, by the way, focused on knife knuts being bent over by the original owner of HideAwayKnives. One would think this would be enough, but to begin a new thread addressing the information. :jerkit:

We have dealers who pay a pretty penny to participate on this forum. IMHO, it's BS for people to post inventory availability (past, present, and or future) for NON-PAYING MEMBERS OF THIS FORUM !

Jesus H. . . . .

Don't read between the lines of what I wrote. . . . .for you know not what you speak ! So there's absolutely no confusion, for those with limited comprehension skills. . . .

It's easy to see pollo as a satisfied, enthusiastic consumer of William's product(s). I do not believe pollo is employing deceptive tactics in an attempt to swindle any of our members.

Invest in a dictionary !

I wasn't aware.

There's a difference between showing pictures of latest creations and advertising inventory !

Shear speculation on your part, again ! :jerkit:

Everybody,

I don't want this to become a big deal. i opened this thread with the intention of giving news to people that are waiting for a knife (and maybe hope to get in in time for christmas, i don't know) if i did something wrong or against the rules i am sorry. I know business with HAK company has been troubled in the past (i thought i read that since william stepped in things are getting back on track).

GigOne, i undestand your point of view. i hope you do undestand mine and the fact that i just thought people would have been happy to know about the fact that W is shipping out already ordered stuff. I should have not add comments about future availability, i apologize for that.

Hi Pollo,

I for one appreciated your posting and feel it is appropriate here. I'm a recent customer of HAK (I have a Brock custom around my neck now) and commented in the thread about Frontsight and the previous problems at HAK.

The problems at HAK reported in this forum were worrisome for me as I found out about them after I placed an almost $400 order with HAK. I was pleased when my knife and other products showed up as promised with no difficulties.

So I saw your comments as evidence that HAK is getting its act together and continuing to provide a really fine product to the blade community. That's a good thing. As I will probably do more business with HAK, your posting is reassuring.

I agree we have a small blademaker who is trying t turn around a company that has had problems but which makes a unique and quality product. It's reasonable for the owner to ask the community to pass the word that he's on the job and hard at work. A little consideration is okay.

My $.02 anyway.
Scot Giles

Just an update. I actually did receive an email response from William at HAK responding to my earlier emails. He apologized for being slow in getting back to me and hoped I was happy with the knife (I am).

So, it does look like HAK is getting its act together.

Best wishes,
Scot Giles

Thanks, hardheart, that comprises the bulk of my answer to GigOne.

I may be wrong, but not discussing knifemakers and their product lines unless they are paid up is obviously not a working policy. I'll research it on my own, I'd like to know who is or is not an "authorized dealer," since the issue has been raised.
