Messenger Bags

You guys are going to be jealous when I'm sporting this thing at BLADE 09...

Just got to find some matching shoes first... :D :D

Mrs. OP says you're going to need at least a 2" heel ... with that style purse.

[Just tryin' to help, Eli!:D "He's a Man, baby!!":)]

Very nice leather work!

Don't forget to pack ear plugs in that bag .. (You'll need it when you strut past any construction sites)

Well, Eli, I like it so much I'm tempted to ask for one for my netbook...but it is likely too manly for a mere lady like myself! :D Seriously, I'd never believe this was the first one you'd made...excellent work!

Great work, man.

Remember it's not a purse if you wear the strap on the opposite shoulder. Now, if you wear it "suicide". . .

I don't care what you call it or how you wear it - nice work Eli

Can you do a boot sheath for my NMFBM? :D

I like it!
I received an old school mail bag from Col. Littleton and it is a great leather bag with a really cool leather flap for closure. I love it.
I love the bag you made and would buy one if you had another. I like the saddlebacks too.
Enjoy.

Eli, that's effin' fantastic work, brother. I had a feeling you'd go that route, and I'm glad you did. Now the question is: why did you EVER consider buying one from someone else when you've got the skills, knowhow and materials to make one yourself? Buying things is for those of us who can't make them ourselves.

Great work, brother.

George, DN and I are jealous. :D

That's for sure. Where do I buy one?

You guys are a hoot!

I just got in rom work and you've given me and my wife some great laughs

That looks awesome Eli:thumbup:

you gotta post a pic modeling the bag with the matching mistress...lol

as long as you wear them together NO ONE will call it a purse....at least not to your face:D

I like it, Id give it to my mom:)
nice work though, although i couldnt personally use it

Wow- that's really great work! I was waiting to see how many hundred you paid from some little known leatherworker somewhere.

Hey that looks fantastic. Great work. I'm curious what leather you used from W&C for this project...harness, bridle, or? Thanks!

8-10 Chestnut skirting, from the sale page they sent out in November...

I think 6-8 would be better, I just didn't have any and didn't want to invest that much into a bag experiment. I think the 6-8 would be sufficient, especially if I added a welt to the seams. This is heavier than it needs to be.

Well it sure looks good, so hopefully you can get some mileage out of it or see it off to a good home so your can start on v2.

To quote Jerry Seinfeld..."It's not a purse, it's European!"

Great work, BTW.

A handle on the top and it becomes a Briefcase.

Two Straps on the back and two on the front and it becomes a back pack.

As it is worn with period clothing, it is just more old timey gear.

To wear with contemporary clothing add a nice pair of Pumps.(Don ask don tell)

The Knife is a nice "Butch" touch though.

I think just add a handle to the top and carry it that way anytime you might worry about making any particular fashion statement and use the stap when wanting a comfortable bag.

Good eye.

You are absolutely right about the handle --- that's #1 on the growing list for changes to the next one (although it would be simple enough to make that adjustment to this one as well.)
