Hoping to see some iconic Solingen Germany knives from back in their heyday. Puma, Hen & Rooster, Boker, Henckels, etc. Post pics or take us to school and give a little background on what you got.

What sparked my interest the most you ask?

Nice Bruckmann with Horn handles!! It is considered to be a real high class gentleman's knife if it has a corkscrew, and a nail file!

From what I have seen these were the some of the parameters over the last century in Germany!!
High class indeed. Think I looked at this 10x before I realized that feather was wood! 😂

I've got a few German folders that I should photograph, but these are my most priced knives from that country. They were my grandfathers' EDCs.

My grandfather on my mom's side was a doctor. He was an army doctor for a while and roamed Patagonia in a jeep, looking after people in the mountains or in isolated ranches. He wasn't into knives, guns or any sort of tool. He'd buy good ones, but tended to abuse them a bit. I don't know why he chose a German sailor's knife, he wasn't into boats and they aren't common around here. But he beat on that thing for decades and it took it. I remember seeing him hit it with a hammer and stuff like that. After my grandmother passed away, I found it rusting away in an old toolbox. I cleaned it, sharpened it and had a new sheath made. I was going to replace the cracked handle, but I'd rather keep using it as is.

My father's dad worked with different rural companies and ran some agricultural projects of his own. He liked showing off and carried this Böker with silver and gold handle and sheath. He was more in tune with classic Argentine taste in knives and was more careful with his tools, so his blade is in better shape. This pattern is what we call a "verijero" ("verija" is a part of the groin), compact EDC knives that are carried IWB at 1 o'clock.

Poor thing, it had a tough life. "Haifisch. Handarbeit." is etched on the blade.

A great thread but a moderator should maybe merge these? The subject was massively covered at one point but new posts very welcome.
