Messing about with Spyderco's

Drop dead gorgeous knives. Amazing work. Thank you for sharing.
Great photography as well.

Amazing work and photos! These remind me of some custom made books I saw once where the threads not only covered the outside but ran through the pages on the inside as well. Stunning!

Those are all amazing!!! I can safely say that I don't think anyone here has seen anything like this, they are so beautiful. You made something that is already a working piece of art so far beyond the next level. I would love to see your future works

Thanks for sharing with us!!

Nicely done, you must have the patience of an angel !

Do they still handle well or are they only for display purpose now ?

Some of the more interesting things I've seen done to knives. I also saw the article in the magazine, very nice work!

I have to ask....do you sell your creations?
:D yes...although, if I'm honest, the creative process is much more important to me than the selling. It is just luck that when I've finished a piece, often someone wants to buy it. My knives are one-off pieces - I rarely do the same thing again and the knives that I am making now are completely different!

They still function perfectly as knives but the handles would get battered with use. They're now in a permanant collection and that's probably their perfect setting. Originally, I was going to set everything in resin but I wanted to still be able to feel the actual pieces of different material so I ended up impregnating the really delicate and perishable bits (like the ivy leaf and the corrugated board) in resin and stitched them on seperately.

After these I made a felted Urban, which I carried as my edc for ages. It was very robust and I just washed it if it got dirty. It's still one of my favourites - gentle and unthreatening when I pull it out of my pocket to use it...and excellent conversation starter regarding the carrying and usefulness of knives.

Scales - Wool, embroidered silk and knitted aluminium wire.

Those are all incredible Grace. Certainly a unique variation on the "art knife" concept. Thanks for sharing them with us. :)

Those look amazing, and I really like the idea.

Grace is a good friend and a very exceptional lady. Several of her felt creations now reside in the V & A gallery in London displayed with some of the finest edged tools of many cultures. Congratulations Grace...Take Care...Ed
