I found him on the ZT site, and just got my 0450 from him in person today. I suggest everyone find their local dealers, it was a great experience to handle basically any ZT model I wanted in person.

At one point I was holding a composite 0888 in my left hand, and the composite 0777 in my right hand, with every variant of both on the table in front of me. Thank god I only brought cash for the 0450!

I don't think my wallet would agree with your suggestion. Nice knife and great pic btw.

That's awesome! So what do you think of the 0450?

Honestly, I love the design but the detent was brutal. My finger is raw from trying to work it in. I just disassembled it and made an... adjustment to the detent and I like it much more now.

Wow nice knife ! How do I go about finding a local dealer in my area?
I went to kai's websight, went to find a dealer, then instead of typing my zip I just zoomed out enough to pin point my state. At that point I just looked at my surrounding are. Fortunately(or unfortunately to my wallet) I found a dealer about an hour away that has 2 0452s in stock. I'm not so sure I'll be able to overcome the temptation to drive down there.

Just shut up and make the drive lol!

Damnet! You win. I will tomorrow. If I had left earlier I would have landed slap in the middle of downtown rush hour. ATLiens don't play when it comes to rush hour haha. The hour it would've taken me to get there would've turned into over two hours on the way back. The only bad thing is they only have 2 in stock, so hopefully no one discovers my little secret before then.

I love getting knives and lights and gear and books etc in the mail, but I prefer to walk into a knife shop. Edgeworks in Maryland, Willey Knives in Delaware and yes, even Country Knives in Pennsylvania, are fun to spend an hour or two in. In all three shops, the owners and staff are very knowledgeable about knives and gear, and will talk for hours.

Well it looks like I should've went yesterday. I got up today and wanted to double check that they still had some in stock before I drove out there, but they sold out.

Care to share details? Before I kill the last remaining nerve endings on my right index finger?

Yeah, it's an irreversible procedure so attempt at your own risk.

Basically if you take the knife apart you will see that the detention ball is a steel bearing pressed into the titanium lock. Support the underside of the lock bar with a soft wood shim, and lightly hammer on the detention ball with a suitable punch or similar tool. This will press it further into the lock bar resulting in less detention. Reassemble and check detent, repeat if necessary.

To reiterate my warning, I came within a whack or two from removing my detent entirely, so take it slow. I would go back and do mine less if I could.
