Okay, I'm helping a friend find a knife and I need a list of candidates.

His criteria:
All metal handle, no zytel, no G-10, no FRN, ect.
At least a 3" blade.
Steel better than AUS-6.
Pocket-clip.
One-hand-opening but not an automatic.
Locking blade.
And under $150.00 dollars.

Thanks in advance,
Allen.

And one more thing: No serrations. He hates them for some reason.

Thanks again,
Allen.

Spyderco Police
Benchmade 940/942 and Benchmade 941/943
Camillus EDC
Outdoor Edge Paragee
Outdoor Edge Aluminum Magna
CRKT M16 and CRKT M18

That should be a good enough start

These are more general blade shapes rather than specialized:

Spyderco Lum Chinese
Spyderco Peter Herbst
Spyderco Native II

Columbia River S-2

Benchmade 940

just to name a few...

While you can still find them, a BM 750 seems to fit the bill. MOD knives would also be options as well as some MT.

The two that seem to stand out are the Syderco Police and the Endura II (with the metal handles)

EDC... EDC... EDC...

Choose whatever steel you like; 154CM, D2 or Talonite. Okay. The Talonite version will cost $153.00, but close enough. ;)

The EDC or the BM940, both very good knives at a reasonable price. Personally, I prefer a frame lock but the Axis lock works well.

Thanks for the input guys.
My friend and I did some data gathering and he has narrowed down his choice to the Benchmade 750 Pinnacle, the Benchmade 940, or the Ka-Bar Thorn.
Anyone have a favorite among these three?

Is the Ka-Bar Thorn even available right now?

I recommended that he find a shop or gun/knife show that has these knives so he can really get a feel of them.

Thanks again,
Allen

Camillus MAXX is 5.5" and has a ti handle and a frame lock. This is the most for your money.

The Kabar Thorn is available at www.knifecenter.com I think it is about $100.

750 Pinnacle has been discontinued.
