Before you do anything check out the Kershaw Boa. it has Aluminum handles which are the most comfortable metal handles I have ever held. the steel is awesome CPM440V. the blade is 3.5 inches. one hand opening not an auto but it is the speed safe which is cool as heck. It comes in black with black blade, or multisplash colored with satin blade. and it's a recurve which is an awesome blade shape. you can pick them up from around $100 and up usually around $120 your friend won't be dissapointed with it for sure!
