metal polish?

got the flitz - it worked -but really had to rub hard- it says non abrasive - i guess thats why - but then again i didnt want anything that would scratch- could not find simichome anywhere - got the flitz at ace - also not able to find mothers mag polish that i thought would be easiest to find.

You are using the Flitz polishing paste, right? I believe Flitz also makes some true 'non-abrasive' cleaners/wax-type products, which may not work as easily for this.

Flitz polishing paste and the liquid form (diluted) are actually abrasive enough to polish steel, with aluminum oxide at small particle size (~ 3 micron or so). Sort of surprised to hear of the difficulty in polishing nickel bolsters. Should handle that easily, unless the bolsters were etched/corroded/pitted.

Agreed, I maintain my case knife bolsters with Flitz. They usually get discolored and pick up some pocket worn scratches. It takes me all of 5 minutes with a micro fiber cloth and the polish to make them look brand new again.

I'm surprised too. Flitz makes quite a few things so maybe you didn't the paste which comes in a tube.
I think Walmart or a auto supply store would have Mothers. Let us know what you think.
