Meteorite, dinosaur bone and wootz folder

Other than the insane impracticality of it, I think the shape fits the choice of materials. They wouldn't be done justice on rounded flowing designs, at least not the way they are presented. I still like it, but I could never get myself to not use a knife that I paid money for. I really like the bone though, that's really the topper for me.

Excellent as a showpiece. A meteorite from the birth of the universe, dinosaur bone from the early days of modern life on Earth, and wootz from the beginnings of high-tech steel. All assembled in a form reminiscent of a picture frame -- with the picture as its own frame. A masterful design.

Not for everyone. Some need their lilies gilded.

Its incredible. Its really a feeling he is making as much as a knife.

Does he do any work other than knives?

I actually think this piece is rather neat and interesting! And if YOU are very happy with it, then that is all that matters.

65535, this is not at all relevant to the thread, but I have a major problem with your avatar.... if that statement is true, then I'm in big, BIG trouble.... lol

you cant just not finish a knife and then say.....well its meant to be an art not a user. it looks like an unfinished knife no matter how you word it.

If that's not an opinion, I dunno what is. The OP is entitled to his own, much like you are.

He calls it more of an art knife, so let him. The purpose he intended the knife for is being utilized as such.

As for me, I like it. Looks very clean.

Cool concept... The Widmanstätten pattern in the bolsters is excellent. The knife has sort of a "retro" look to me. Novel choice in combining the two elements, being that there are theories of meteors causing the extinction of the dinosaurs...

I did some research and found out from which species the bone came.
It is a Diplodocus a dinosaur which was a plant eater had around 10 tons of weight.
Here are two more pictures of the bone material as well as one of the dinosaur.
