Method of rotation for Traditional folders

I have a cigar box with ten slots, which used to perfectly fit all my modded gecs and assorted traditionals. But of late ive packed them away and just kept a single daily driver out. This doesnt necessarily need to go in the box as its a bit of a fidget spinner, out for coon fingering.

I have 8 in my current carry rotation, Lined up on my desk; I carry one for a couple of days then put it back and switch to the next in line.

My knives all live in a machinist's tool chest on my desk. My slipjoints fit into two of its small drawers, one for SAKs and one for non-SAKs.

When I'm in the mood to carry one, I just open a drawer and see what catches my fancy. I tend to get into a groove with a single knife, carrying it for days or weeks; that knife usually stays out on my desk, rather than going back in the chest.

I can't be of much help. I keep a few drawers of readily accessible users but, for all the knives I own, I tend to carry the same things for a long period of time. I am a creature of routine. Eventually, I mix it up but it could be months before that happens. This is why I don't post in the "what you carrying today" thread anymore. I do, however, lovingly stare at and handle the other knives frequently don't get me wrong :)

All depends on two factors: where I am heading, and my current mood. Leatherman if any work might pop up, or going into public place with security checks. Some XL folder by Cold Steel if going into dark winter night, haha, or maybe an OTF. Other cases, like walking for the fresh air, then it would be just about anything.

Not sure I could even cram another knife into this toolbox ...
In fact, there are at least six other locations around the house, Jeep and shed with multiple knives each
Sometimes I just grab one. But seldom these days do I carry one knife more than a day or two
Sometimes no more than a morning, afternoon or evening

I keep a random pile of knives that I'll slowly add to when I'm not to lazy to open up my storage box...that is until my wife gets annoyed with me and tells me to clean up. 😅 and then I'll start over and slowly added to the pile again.

I have 10 or so knives that live on a bookshelf next to my bed. Choice is usually by "What am I doing today?", followed by "Is it sharp?", followed by..."I love this freaking knife!". My overall favorite is a Spyderco Endura 4 Wave in VG-10. It sits so nicely in my pocket, and deploys so well! That being said, today's choice is a Cold Steel Lawman in CTS/XHP, another delightful EDC sized blade, just waiting in my pocket to help me out.

I do not Cycle Through my knives . I keep some of my knives that I use for working on a shelf where I dress and pick the ones that I want for the day and I sometimes get into a rut . On days that we are going somewhere , I will just choose what I feel for the day . I like to carry Stag when I can , but I will only carry Stag on days that end with a "Y " .

I have my favorites...the ones I automatically grab. They might hold the "#1" spot for a few months...or a few years. During that reign, I'll periodically revisit former favorites; but it's usually only for a few days. The last favorite - the Buck 501 (3 years - usually the DLT green canvas; but the 12/20 BOTM saw a lot of time, too) recently got displaced by a Buck Ecolite.
Most likely to be grabbed when I'm in the mood for a change? That depends on my mood...the two most likely options are my GEC 56 or a GEC 92. After those are a 77 or 15. But, the reality is, I don't have a rotation. I carry the current favorite... And when I feel like mixing things up a bit, I reach for the one that calls out the loudest.

These 10 knives are what I choose from most every day. They sit inside a cabinet next to my desk. I usually end my day by picking out what I'm going to carry, slipjoint wise, the next day. Those that have seen the most carry lately are the Boker Gents knife, the Case/Bose Eureka Jack and the Lloyd Shadow trapper.
