I have a 2# ball pein hammer that I don't know how old it is but my great grandfather rehandled it when the last handle broke. A few years back my dad cracked the handle working on an engine and I'd like to rehandle it so I can use it for forging. The only problem is that the handle has been on it for about 60 years now and it does NOT want to let go. I've got the handle cut off but I can't get the part that's inside the head out, I've tried sticking it in a vice and using a bolt as a punch to punch it through, I've killed 3 dremel gouge bits trying to carve it out, adn I can't get ahold of the wedge because it seem to have become a part of the wood
I don't have a drillpress or I'd just use a small drill bit and drill it out, any other suggestions?
